Our History
The Rotech Keg system originated from collaborative work with Allied Breweries in the late 1980s
Allied Breweries conducted a thorough investigation into the proper keg sterilization process, which enhanced their understanding of the significance of steam and pressure metrics. This study focused on several critical aspects:
- High-Pressure Saturated Steam
- Steam Quality and Temperature
- Pressure Metrics
- Monitoring and Control
The investigation underscored the importance of continuous monitoring and control throughout the sterilization process. By employing electronic test kegs and other monitoring equipment, Allied Breweries was able to collect data and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal sterilization conditions. Emphasizing these factors, Allied Breweries developed a robust keg sterilization process that reduced the time required for assay test samples and reasoned that understanding and controlling the temperature and steam parameters within the kegs during cleaning and filling would mitigate the risk of contamination.
Rotech’s Contribution
Rotech Swindon played a crucial role in developing a monitoring keg system in partnership with Allied Breweries. The work conducted by Rotech provided Allied Breweries with valuable insights into the internal conditions of a keg during cleaning and filling. This collaborative effort allowed Rotech to create a system that offered detailed information about the keg cleaning and filling processes.

He has overseen the development of the Rotech Keg Filling Line Monitoring System, which is renowned for its ability to monitor every cycle of de-ullage, rinsing, washing, disinfection, gassing, and filling. Before joining Rotech, Mark served as a Director at Samsung, SiConnect and EnModus where he focused on business development and innovation and most recently as business coach and consultant with companies in health, risk management, & music technology.
Mark’s diverse background in technology and business coaching has equipped him with a unique skill set that he brings to his role at Rotech.
