What is fobbing?

Fobbing, also known as beer foaming, occurs when carbon dioxide (CO₂) gas escapes rapidly from the liquid, creating an excess of foam. Several factors contribute to this process:

1.     Temperature: If the beer is too warm, CO₂ escapes more readily, causing excessive foam. Ideally, beer should be served at temperatures between 36-40°F (2-4°C)

1CO₂ Pressure: High CO₂ pressure can lead to over-carbonation, resulting in foamy beer. Adjusting the regulator to maintain appropriate pressure levels is crucial

2.     Beer Line Quality: Dirty or kinked beer lines can disrupt the flow and cause foaming. Regular cleaning and maintenance of beer lines help prevent this issue.

3.     Fill Rate  Introduces excess gas into the beer, leading to foam..

4.     Beer Quality: The quality and composition of the beer itself can affect foaming. Some beers are naturally more prone to fobbing due to their carbonation levels
